Referral Service
What type of care are you seeking:
- full or part-time
- long-term
- temporary
Referral process:
Contact
APHCCA via phone or email. The Referral Coordinator will make contact with you
soon afterwards. The Referral Coordinator will ask qualifying questions on your
childcare needs. Based on your answers, she will give you names and contact
information on Home Childcare Providers that have openings in your area, that
meet your needs. You will then need to contact these Home Childcare Providers
and begin the interview process. Your first interview should be over the
phone. The second one should be at the Home Childcare location. You
should schedule several home visits at different times of the day, observing the
Home Childcare Provider interacting with other children and one on one with your
child. If you don't find a fit the first time, call back to the Referral
Coordinator to expand your Home Childcare Provider choices. Once you find the
Home Childcare that is suitable for your family, make sure you sign a contract
for services to acquire the open spot.
Referral items needed when calling:
- number of children
- ages of children
- zip code you live in
- do you need transportation
- hours childcare is needed
Disclaimer: Referrals are for informational purpose only. Parents are encouraged to investigate any childcare facility they may consider using. Do not make your decision over the phone. Schedule a visit to several homes at different times of the day. Remember that less expensive is not always better. Paying a little more generally will give you the security & peace of mind you are seeking in a Home Childcare.
